Risk Evaluation and Screening to Tailor Prevention and Reduce the Incidence of Endometrial Cancer

This completed Phase 4 study from the University of British Columbia focused on a new screening and prevention plan for postmenopausal women at risk of endometrial cancer. The approach combined hormone therapy with lifestyle changes to identify women at higher risk earlier. If proven effective, this strategy could reduce the need for invasive tests like biopsies while helping prevent cancer from developing.

Prospective Randomised Phase II Trial Evaluating Adjuvant Pelvic Radiotherapy Using Either IMRT or 3-Dimensional Planning for Endometrial Cancer. ICORG 09-06

This Phase 2 trial compared two types of pelvic radiotherapy for patients in Ireland with high-risk endometrial cancer after surgery. It aimed to find out if intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), a newer technique, could reduce side effects such as bowel and bladder issues compared to the standard 3-dimensional radiation. The results may guide safer treatment choices that still effectively control cancer.

Relacorilant in Combination With Different Treatment Regimens in Patients With Gynecological Cancers

Currently recruiting worldwide, this Phase 2 trial is testing relacorilant, a new drug, combined with other treatments for advanced ovarian, fallopian tube, peritoneal, and endometrial cancers. The study hopes to improve how well treatments work or reduce their side effects. Success could offer patients additional options in managing these gynecological cancers.

Assessement of a Test a Financial-incentive Program for Pregnant Women and Their Smoking Partners to Reduce Smoking During Pregnancy.

This study in France is exploring whether giving financial rewards to pregnant women who smoke and their partners helps them quit tobacco use. Reducing smoking during pregnancy is important for the health of both mother and baby. If the program works, it could become a new way to support families in stopping smoking at a critical time.

Social Networks for Improving Maternal & Child Health

In Northwest Ethiopia, this study tests a counseling program that uses local social support groups to improve health and nutrition for pregnant women and their babies. The goal is to increase the use of maternal health services and lower rates of maternal depression and malnutrition. This approach may strengthen community support to improve outcomes for mothers and children.
